Trellis is seeking an organized and detail-oriented analytics professional to join our team as a Lead Healthcare Business Analyst. The applicant should possess a talent for working with, interpreting, and generating insights out of healthcare-related data (prescriptions, pharmacy claims, medical encounters) in a structured and systematic way. They will participate with a team that leads business development, financial modeling and operations at Trellis, and will aid the sales team in engaging with prospects in a meaningful way.

Your work will help to develop financial and operational plans for the creation of a new specialty pharmacy service line within leading health systems across the country. It will benefit patients with very complex conditions and treatments.  You will have a visible and direct impact on improving their day-to-day lives.

The role is based in Atlanta with up to 10% travel for internal and customer meetings.

You would be responsible for:

  • Partnering cross-functionally with internal teams to formulate client-facing strategies, determine the financial viability of a specialty pharmacy service line, uncover areas for improvement, and develop strategies to improve Trellis’ pre-launch financial and operational analysis processes
  • Analyzing and interpreting large datasets including e-prescribing and encounter data, pharmacy claims, provider data to outline financial viability of specialty pharmacy programs
  • Creating validated financial models showing revenue, operating expense, profitability, and staffing requirements and plans
  • Producing client-ready materials for executives and finance teams to communicate findings as part of the sales process
  • Partnering with operations and technology teams to review sources of data, create curated datasets, and define standardized business reporting to inform benchmarks and decisions related to financial modeling, budgeting, growth, and operations
  • Designing/automating/optimizing systems and processes to drive improved accuracy and faster delivery of analytical outputs and insights
  • Synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings to corporate and site teams, to enable data-driven decision making
  • Participating in analytic and business reporting activities, incl. ad-hoc analyses
  • Assisting corporate and site teams with client presentations related to data analysis and financial models
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining strong customer relationships

 We are excited to speak with someone who has:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, math, or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare data analysis, including project scoping, working with large data sets, and distilling down to key insights
  • Knowledge of Healthcare data sets: EDI, HL7, ADT, SIU, Encounter, Claims, Hospital Charges, etc.
  • Experience with Database and Reporting packages such as SQL or Oracle, plus Microsoft Office applications incl. database software such as Access
  • Experience with producing client-ready reports and presentations, and presenting findings in verbal and written forms to technical as well as non-technical audiences at the executive and functional leadership-level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial projections including at least a basic understanding of key financial items (revenues, cogs, gross and net margins, etc.)
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Familiarity with, or ability to get familiar with, key pharmacy and healthcare data sources (e.g., ESI drug trend report, IMS reports etc.)
  • An obsession with data, and the passion to explain real world observations through numbers
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • A track record of following through on commitments using excellent planning, project-management, prioritization, and time management skills with limited day-to-day oversight

 And bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Understanding and experience with pharmacy-related data, including electronic prescriptions and/or pharmacy adjudication claims
  • Finance, consulting, or business intelligence experience in a client-facing environment
  • Experience with statistics, or working with data visualization tools
