Trellis is seeking a highly motivated Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment Operations Specialist who want to elevate their practice to the next level in their careers. We are currently building a team in the Northeast Indiana area to provide outstanding service to patients with complex, specialty diseases to help them achieve improved clinical outcomes.

The Fulfillment Operations Specialist will work in conjunction with the Trellis Rx Operations Team and in partnership with the dispensing pharmacy staff in Indiana. In this role, you will serve as the liaison between the Trellis Specialty Pharmacy program and the health system operations, ensuring exceptional and coordinated delivery of service to all Specialty Pharmacy patients at this location. 

You would be responsible for:

  • Shepherding specialty (and associated retail) prescriptions through the fulfillment process from start to finish:
    • Order fulfillment
    • Contacting patients regarding ongoing refill needs for specialty meds
    • Ensuring on-time pickup/delivery has occurred for our patients and follow up as necessary
  • Preparing and conducting Specialty Pharmacy Operations trainings
    • Process, mail-order, cold-chain, etc.
  • Procurement of supplies (mail-order, cold-chain, ancillary supplies)
    • Maintaining the Trellis Rx Master supply list for this location
    • Assisting with vendor/product selection
    • Vendor relations
    • Ordering supplies and establishing and maintaining respective PAR levels
  • Shipping/Tracking
    • Proactive tracking of shipments for all Specialty patients
    • Troubleshooting logistics related issues
    • Act as a resource for mail-order and cold-chain logistics
    • Assisting with user access for logistics software/platforms
    • Assisting with cold-chain management
  • Maintaining frequent contact with Specialty Pharmacy Liaisons and ensuring communication to patients is aligned within multiple parties.
  • Maintaining compliance with policies related to pharmacy operations, shipping and cold-chain
  • Maintenance of records
  • Ongoing testing
  • Delivery of customer service in-person & telephonically
  • Helping promote teamwork and positive morale at client sites.
    • Upholding Trellis’ culture and norms and ensuring it flows through in every interaction and process
    • Displaying excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers and clients, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure

We are excited to speak with someone who has:

  • Pharmacy Technician certification, registered as a technician in the state of Indiana
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialty pharmacy dispensing environment
  • Knowledge of benefits investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work
  • Basic math skills to aid dispensing, along with strong communication skills (verbal and written) to coordinate effectively across multiple teams in the clinic and pharmacy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to accurately deliver on multiple, disparate responsibilities
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software (e.g., MS Office), EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or Meditech), and dispensing systems (e.g., QS1, RX30, or Computer Rx)
  • The ability to start from scratch, execute quickly and accurately without pre-defined processes and protocols, and an interest in helping define such processes and protocols for the future
  • The patience to adapt to customers’ preferences and processes, while always upholding Trellis’ standards

And bonus points if you have a couple of these, too:

  • Knowledge of the oncology, infectious disease, and/or rheumatology space
  • Experience in a health system specialty pharmacy
