The Chief Financial Officer will play a crucial role in guiding the company’s decisions and financial strategies around investments, taxes, growth, and liquidity. As a member of the Executive Staff, the CFO will actively participate in the development and execution of our strategic goals, objectives, plans and management of the organization. This individual will have ultimate responsibility and oversight of the company’s financial activities including preparation of reports and summaries, creation of reliable short and long-term forecasting and serving as a crucial advisor to the Chief Executive Officer in matters related to business execution, including formulation of an exit strategy.

This position is based at our Atlanta, GA headquarters with up to 25% travel.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and leadership teams on both financial and broad-based business matters
  • Serve as key member of the senior executive team in providing input to peers regarding financial implications of major decisions and their impact to business objectives
  • Guide the company’s strategy with financial planning using predictive models, reports, forecasts, and budgets
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to company leadership and the board of directors
  • Monitor company’s financial investments and performance, including cash-burn, funds-allocation and ensure ROI of business decisions and growth strategies
  • Play a key role in the continued growth of the organization by offering creative ideas that allow for scalability
  • Develop and execute investment strategies while considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Collaborate and partner with equity investors and financial institutions/lenders; ensure adequate cash flow while maximizing company valuation at various stages of growth
  • Research, assess and implement tools and processes that increase business clarity and efficiency
  • Define and develop corporate tax strategy
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential liabilities and financial risk exposure
  • Collaborate with company’s leadership team to ensure business is growing at its maximum capacity, while ensuring adequate resources are provided to business units
  • Partner with the organization’s leadership, particularly its CEO in exit strategy discussions and planning
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: will have ultimate oversight of the accounting and finance team for the organization, consisting of:
    • VP, Finance
    • Manager, Finance
    • Accounting Manager (external vendor)

We are excited to speak with someone who has

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Proven experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer in a high-growth setting for a minimum of five years
  • Previous experience leading an organization through a successful and strategic exit
  • Prior experience serving as an advisor to Chief Executive Officer and partnering with leadership team in a rapidly changing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Experience in healthcare, health insurance, pharma, or life sciences business strongly preferred
  • Experience working with private equity/venture capital firms strongly preferred
  • Strong track record of leading a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust amongst stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 25%
