The Accounting Manager will be responsible for all areas of accounting, including but not limited to: month-end close, payroll, accounts payable, cash management, auditing, and financial reporting. This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in achieving financial goals to support business growth and better manage the company’s resources.

This position is based in our Midtown Atlanta office with minimal travel requirements.

You would be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and managing the general account functions of the business including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and taxes
  • Assisting with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities
  • Managing month-end closing of payroll
  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Performing ad hoc analysis and projects
  • Managing bi-weekly payroll processing for exempt & non-exempt populations
  • Ensuring all timesheets & PTO requests are processed in a timely fashion
  • Processing vendor invoices and manage vendor relationships
  • Processing banking reconciliation in a timely manner
  • Ordering corporate credit cards and monitor activity
  • Completing financial journal entries
  • Budget/cost allocations & deferrals
  • Following proper accounting procedures to help Trellis reach financial objectives
  • Assisting the Human Resources team with payroll, PTO requests, onboarding of new-hires, terminations, etc.
  • Assisting the VP of Finance with additional projects as needed

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Five years of relevant work experience
  • A background of working with senior leadership and the ability to report accounting data
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Confidence and desire to work with senior executives and develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to define, implement, and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned key tasks and meet deadlines
  • Orientation as a self-starter with the ability to think creatively and independently
  • Solid knowledge of financial accounting and reporting of the controllership function, auditing, and financial systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Calendar
  • Experience with accounting and forecast planning software, preferably Safe Intacct or NetSuite
