The Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of company databases. The applicant is responsible for creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases as well as organizing and databases so individuals can find important information in an efficient manner. They will work closely with other network engineers to deliver key initiatives and strategies for accelerating adoption of Company solutions. This position operates with minimal supervision.

The product that you help build will be implemented at health systems immediately. It will benefit patients with some of the most complex conditions and you will have a visible and direct impact on improving their day-to-day lives.

The role is based in Atlanta with up to 5% travel for on-site customer implementations.

You would be responsible for:

  • Extracting, loading and manipulating data
  • Regular maintenance of databases to make sure application is functioning effectively
  • Replicating data for disaster recovery and fail over processes
  • Backing up application data
  • Authenticating application data
  • Monitoring the performance of application by monitoring sever CPU utilization and other attributes
  • Setting up cybersecurity measures set forth by director of security
  • Configuring servers and databases
  • Preserving data integrity
  • Ethically handling private data, including financial and healthcare data

We are excited to speak with someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business, software engineering, information systems or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience in software industry and at least five years of database management experience
  • Familiarity with database queries
  • Knowledge of database design and theories
  • Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
  • Experience with server installation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with database management best practices
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Thorough understanding of management and data administration duties such as collection, analysis, and distribution
  • Experience with databases like AWS Aurora MySQL
  • Great understanding of general Healthcare practices and data sets like EDI, HL7, ADT, SIU, Encounter, Claims, Hospital Charges, etc

And bonus points if you have experience with any of these items:

  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems, such as Pioneer, Rx30, Winrx, CPR+, PDX, EnterpriseRx, QS/1, or Epic Willow Ambulatory
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy software programs, such as Scriptmed, Therigy, or Asembia1
  • Experience with Data Lake and Data Warehouse concepts and execution
